1994 Volkswagen Golf
The 1994 Volkswagen Golf III is a redesigned model of previous Volkswagen Golf
cars. The 1994 model was first introduced in California and made its way to the
rest of USA later in the year. There were significant changes made to the Volkswagen
Golf, although it retains its 1993 engine and other parts.
The 1994 Volkswagen Golf is available in three trim levels: the GL 2-door, the
GL 4-door, and LE trims. All share the same 2.0 liter 4-cylinder engine that produces
115 horsepower at 5200 rpm and 122 lb-ft torque at 2600 rpm. Standard transmission
is a 5-speed manual with overdrive while a 4-speed automatic transmission with
overdrive is available as an option. The car has a fuel economy rating (city/highway)
of 24/31 mpg using the manual transmission and 21/28 mpg using the automatic transmission.
In interior features, the 1994 Volkswagen Golf comes with a few. The only standard
feature for all models is a tachometer while an air conditioning system and a
cassette player is standard only for the LE trim and optional for the GL trims.
A manual sunroof/moonroof is also optional for all models. Other than these, it
has nothing more.
Although common and enough for most cars during this time, the safety features
are inadequate. The only standard safety features are dual front airbags and power
door locks. ABS brakes are optional for all models, although all are equipped
with 4-wheel disc brakes.
